Description

In 2022, for the first time on Lake Maggiore, the Consorzio Maggiore launched Maggiore Centro, a cumulative ticket valid for one day, including transportation and access to several attractions, in the central part of the Lake area. In 2023 we are now moving on to a new phase of the project: the ticket becomes digital, a single ticket recognized by all project partners, which can be booked and downloaded on smartphones.

Maggiore Centro was created from the wish to manage tourist flows in a more effective and sustainable way, offering visitors destinations that are alternatives to the most popular attractions, which often have problems of "over tourism". Furthermore, the aim is to encourage visitors to use exclusively public transportation, thus avoiding traveling by car. Whether they are international tourists or those who go to Lake Maggiore for a day’s outing, Maggiore Centro can be used from the main towns in the central area of the lake, on both the Piedmont and Lombardy shores, some of which are connected via railway with Milan or Switzerland.

Compared to the 2022 experimental edition, starting this year Maggiore Centro becomes a cumulative digital ticket, including costs and disembarkation fees collected by the Municipality of Stresa. The ticket is truly a direct access pass for carriers and attractions, avoiding queues at ticket offices and saving on the sum of individual services.

Maggiore Centro can only be purchased from the Consorzio Maggiore sales website:
