How to get

We recommend the use of public transport using bus number 2 starting from Locarno (Locarno stop) Railway station or taking the funicular to the Madonna del Sasso (the center is located at 5/10 minutes walk in a westerly direction, walking on the road to Locarno).

By car: From the roundabout follow the signs Piazza Castello first to the Valley Maggia and then to Locarno (passing near the Church of S. Antonio). Take advantage of the public parking of Locarno.

About

The observatory performs various public functions, and its regional centres are responsible for the interpretation of meteorological data and the provision of regional weather forecasts.

The Locarno-Monti centre is responsible for weather forecasting, meteorological and climate research in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland and Engadina. A visit to the centre takes about an hour and a half. The basic themes can be adapted to suit the interests of visitors.
