Laveno Mombello is one of the most suggestive and picturesque tourist locations on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore.

From here, comfortable two-seat cable cars take you gently up almost to the summit of Sasso del Ferro (approx. altitude 1,100 metres) from where, amid the silence and solemnity of nature, you can admire a magnificent and magical view over Lake Maggiore, the Alps, pre-Alps, the Lombardy lakes and the Po plain.

Thanks to a cool breeze in summer and a mild winter climate, Monte Sasso del Ferro is an ideal destination for day-trips and quiet weekends in tranquil, green woodland. The cable car ride takes about 16 minutes. On arrival at the summit you can find a bar, restaurant, hotel and shop selling typical products and souvenirs.

A launch station for hang gliding and parascending is also located near the cable car arrival point.>
