About

Foroglio falls are well worth a visit.

The falls, accessible from the village of Foroglio, tumble into the Calneggia valley below from an 80 metre high rock. A didactic trail dedicated to the seasonal movements of people and livestock in the Bavona valley starts at the villages of Cavergno and Bignasco.

The trail follows the valley floor and takes you along a number of stages to Terra di Foroglio, Pontido and, via the Val Calneggia, to the Alpine pastures at an altitude of over 2000 metres. These seasonal movements play a key role in the history of Bavona and other Alpine valleys.

The tradition is still very strong in the Bavona valley, where the local population has created clear routes.
