Christmas is coming: we suggest you an unordinary weekend…

Friday 14th December: arrival, check-in and overnight in a 3-star-hotel of Stresa. This small town is the so-called “Pearl of Lake Maggiore”, facing the “Borromeo Gulf” with a wonderful view of the islands…

Saturday 15th December: after breakfast excursion to Domodossola, in the Ossola Valley. In the heart of the town it will take place the 15th edition of the Christmas Markets: a lot of ideas for a great present with typical hand-crafted objects and products with a special taste! In the early afternoon you will reach Ornavasso (we suggest you to arrive there before 2 p.m.), a nice village with an old and interesting Walser-origin. There, children (but also adults) will have the possibility to visit the Pink-marble Quarry (“The Real Cave of Santa Claus”), where a real Santa Claus is waiting for you with a gift and an afternoon snack! Return in hotel and overnight.

Sunday 16th December: in the morning, after breakfast, by private motorboat you will reach the “isola Superiore dei Pescatori” (Fishermen's island) that owes its name to the occupation of its inhabitants. After a romantic walk along the so-called “Via di Mezzo” and a visit of the small church you will continue by private motorboat to Baveno (small town facing the Borromeo Gulf, not so far away from Stresa). In Baveno since few years before Christmas Day there is one of the most beautiful event of Lake Maggiore: “Un Salto nel Passato” (A Plunge into the Past). The old town centre goes back into the past and more than 500 people, dressing old clothes, give life to a truly impressive show… You have just to follow alleys and narrow streets to discover magic corners, secret spots, unusual works and to taste typical dishes, but you can’t pay with Euros, the only money available is “ul Franc da Baven”. In the afternoon return in Stresa by private motorboat, ready to come back home.
