The area of Lake Maggiore and Upper Piedmont offers countless opportunities to its visitors: enchanting landscapes to discover, delicious cuisine to savor, characteristic villages rich in history and culture to explore, and numerous wellness centers, thermal baths, and spas in which to “pamper yourself,” taking care of both body and mind.
The entire province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, for example, is renowned for its many thermal springs scattered across the territory, which have long been its greatest asset; first and foremost the thermal waters of Bognanco, Crodo, and especially Premia, home to a state-of-the-art spa.
The history of the Bognanco springs began in 1863, the year the first source was discovered; from that moment, the small village of Bognanco experienced continuous growth which, between the two World Wars, transformed it into an important holiday destination. The town thus entered a real economic and tourist boom: today numerous hotels, inns, and guesthouses throughout the Bognanco Valley host the many visitors of the Bognanco Thermal Baths. The spa complex is currently equipped with medical offices, rooms for balneotherapy and aerosol therapy, saunas, and a beauty department.
In Crodo, in the hamlet of Bagni, stands a therapeutic thermal facility. The waters here, enriched with minerals as they filter through the local rocks, are especially renowned for their beneficial effects on the liver and bladder.
Premia Terme, finally, is a modern thermal facility located in the Antigorio Valley and inaugurated in 2008. It offers visitors all the benefits of the naturally warm waters of the Cadarese spring, together with a modern spa dedicated to wellness and relaxation. In addition to indoor and outdoor thermal pools, Premia Terme provides a wide range of wellness experiences, including saunas, Turkish baths, massages, and beauty treatments.
