Sacred Mount of Varallo

Sacred Mount of Varallo, the oldest of the Sacred Mountains of Piedmont and Lombardy, is located on a panoramic hill above the city. Founded at the end of the 15th century by Friar Bernardino Caimi, it includes over 40 frescoed chapels and about 800 terracotta statues depicting the life and passion of Christ.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003, the Sacred Mount offers visitors a journey through art, history and nature, with panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. It is a destination suitable for both those seeking cultural experiences and those who wish to stroll through history and the landscape.
