Parisi Valle Museum

Maccagno

The Parisi Valle Museum takes its name from the artist and university lecturer Giuseppe Vittorio Parisi, who was born in Maccagno in 1915. Inspired by the beauty and liveliness of the area, he presented the town with his large collection of over two thousand works of art.

These 2,085 works comprise 915 graphic designs, 439 two-dimensional and 325 three-dimensional works, representing much of the art produced in Italy in the years from the 1930s to the 1980s.

In addition to Parisi’s work, in the field of informal art and visual arts, the Museum exhibits drawings, paintings and sculptures by avant-garde artists of the calibre of Balla, De Chirico, Picasso, Fiume, Guttuso.

The Museum also hosts a number of cultural and artistic events throughout the year, including the annual “Acquisitions” exhibition, when the new works acquired by the Museum go on show for the first time in Maccagno.
