August in Malesco, Val Vigezzo, sees the Short Film festival “Malescorto”, a not-to-be-missed event for all video makers and short film enthusiasts.
Malescorto is a novel event designed to publicise the natural beauty of this area and the rest of the world using the highly communicative and modern medium of the cinema.
The competing shorts come from all over the world and may be of three types: fiction, documentary or animation.
There are also three categories in which prizes will be awarded: free theme; ecology (shorts on nature and environmental education); and documentaries on the Insubrian-Lepontine area, which includes the provinces of Como, Varese, Lecco, and Verbano Cusio Ossola, as well as the Swiss Canton Ticino.
The jury is made up of film professionals and awards a total of eight cash prizes. The shorts can be seen free of charge and are shown in the picturesque little mountain town of Malesco.
