Falconry

Locarno - Ticino

Professional falconers hold various displays, demonstrating the aerobatic skills of their birds, and restimulating interest in falconry, a sport that fascinated our ancestors for many centuries.

While the birds perform in the air, the falconers tell the story of falconry and explain the important role that these magnificent birds still have to play in maintaining the equilibrium of our ecosystem.

The displays demonstrate the falconers’ great passion for their birds, which include not only falcons but eagles, owls, buzzards, vultures and other birds of prey, and provide information on the characteristics of each species and on their natural habitats.
