March in Varese sees the “Cortisonici” Festival of Short Films, which began in 2003 on the initiative of the film club Filmstudio ’90 and the culture association Ronzinanti.
In addition to showing short films, both competing and non-competing, the events includes meetings and seminars with directors and other film professionals well-known in Italy and abroad, focussing on a wide range of topics which change from year to year.
The International Competition has seen the participation of short films from all over the world: Spain, France, Argentina, Iran. Showings are usually in two “doses”, and a jury of experts names the winner on the last evening of the festival.
The films are shown in theatres and other venues in Varese. Participation is free of charge.
