The Sesia River, which flows through Valsesia and Vercellese, is one of Piedmont’s main destinations for river sports. Its clear and often rapid waters offer ideal conditions for activities such as rafting, kayaking and canoeing, suitable for both beginners and experts. Along the course of the river, there are points equipped for guided descents, equipment hire and safety routes.
The river offers different types of descents, from the easiest to the most complex. The degree of difficulty of the river section can vary greatly depending on the water flow and the season.
The European Kayak Championships were held on this river in 2001 and the World Championships in 2002.
