The Municipality of Cannero Riviera has a long tradition historic of cultivation of citrus fruits: in its famous and elegant villas and gardens one can observe valuable and ancient specimens. And it is precisely thanks to the cultivations of citrus fruits and olive trees, favored by the climate mild of the lake, that Cannero, from mid-Twentieth Century, has assumed the denomination of “Riviera”.
Not only tasty and colorful fruits, but also jams, tea and liqueurs: together to the silvery fishes of the lake, the white cheeses from the aroma of mountain pasture, the infusions and the biscuits in form of mountain, the citrus fruits are part of the rich production local, celebrated every spring by the event “Citrus Fruits of Cannero Riviera”. Many are the proposals artistic, gastronomic and cultural that conduct the visitors to the discovery of the aspects more fascinating and less known of the territory of the Riviera of the Verbano, among which a selection of stand of exhibition and sale of the productions local.
