Christmas Markets in Santa Maria Maggiore

Santa Maria Maggiore

The Santa Maria Maggiore Christmas Markets take place every year on the weekend of the Immaculate Conception and are one of the most evocative exhibitions in Piedmont during the Christmas period. In the Vigezzo village, visitors can experience three days of pre-Christmas shopping, discovering the typical mountain architecture and gastronomy, also thanks to the simple and elegant setups that embellish the streets and squares.

To accompany the visitors’ journey among the over 200 stalls there are many delicacies: the fragrant mulled wine, the invigorating Vigezzo coffee, the very greedy “stincheet”, tasty roasted chestnuts and typical dishes to be savored in the various refreshment points hosted in the historic center and beyond. In addition to buying original and handmade gift ideas, visitors have the opportunity to admire the entire town dressed up for the holiday with festive decorations and bright decorations that enhance the already suggestive corners of this snow-covered mountain village. To reach Santa Maria Maggiore during the event it is recommended to use the Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway.
