The traditional event “The Citrus Fruits of Cannero Riviera” is scheduled from February 28 to March 8. This year’s theme is “The Reddest Ones“.
In this 19th edition, which coincides with International Women’s Day on its final date, the Citrus Festival will focus on “red”. Among the numerous varieties displayed in the main exhibition, a prominent place will be dedicated to pigmented oranges.
For those who may not know, the Municipality of Cannero Riviera has a historical tradition of citrus cultivation dating back centuries. There are more than 250 plants (multiple varieties of sweet and bitter oranges, yellow and pink grapefruits, lemons, cedars, mandarins, clementines) distributed in the private gardens of the village, some of considerable antiquity, exceeding 50 or even 70 years.
The gardens of Cannero open their doors to the public so that everyone can enjoy the brightness, colors, and scents of the northernmost citrus fruits in Italy, through workshops, displays, shows, exhibitions, and guided tours.
Here you will admire the incredible shapes and colors of the citrus fruits that have found an ideal microclimate for their growth in this very territory.
