On 8 and 9 August 2026, Malescomics returns – the festival that brings the world of comics, illustration and entertainment to the Vigezzo Valley with an even more packed programme this year. For the first time, the event is doubling in size and will run over a whole weekend, transforming the picturesque village of Malesco into a huge open-air stage dedicated to comics, illustration, animation and pop culture.
Organised by the Pro Loco Tourist Association of Malesco, Finero and Zornasco in collaboration with CreativeComics and the artist Daniele Statella, the event will bring together leading authors, illustrators, publishers and enthusiasts for two days of talks, workshops, shows and activities aimed at visitors of all ages.
At the heart of the event will be talks with numerous leading figures from the world of Italian comics, offering the public the chance to attend talks, discover fascinating facts about the creative process, receive live sketches and get to know authors and illustrators up close. There will also be a dedicated space for local talent, showcasing local creativity and creating a direct point of contact with the public.
On Sunday, comic book culture will take centre stage with a special event celebrating 40 years of Dylan Dog, featuring the series’ legendary scriptwriters and artists, as well as in-depth insights into the history of American comics and cartoons. The day will draw to a close with the eagerly awaited Cosplay Competition, which will bring costumes, characters and performances inspired by fantasy and pop culture to the village.
Throughout the weekend, Malesco will also host numerous themed areas and ongoing activities designed for families, children and enthusiasts: from board games and role-playing games to retrogaming, from LEGO® bricks to a space dedicated to the world of Harry Potter, right through to creative activities and a play area for the little ones.
Malescomics 2026 thus proves to be much more than just a comic book fair: a wide-ranging event that brings together art, culture, entertainment and tourism, showcasing the village of Malesco and offering an immersive experience for the whole family in the heart of the Vigezzo Valley.
