From May 10 to September 6, 2026, the Civic Archaeological Museum of Angera hosts the exhibition “L’Archivio Angera. Memorie dal Cantiere Archeologico Universitario”, organized in collaboration with the University of Milan.
Forty years after the conclusion of the excavations conducted in Angera by the Universities of Milan and Pavia, photographs, excavation journals, notebooks, sketches, and original documents return to tell the story of a fundamental season for the knowledge of the Roman vicus of Angera and the Lower Verbano territory.
The exhibition presents not only the results of archaeological research, but also the daily work in the field, the faces, the relationships, and the human experience of students, researchers, and professors who contributed to writing an important page of the territory’s history.
Inauguration Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Museum (Angera, via Marconi 2) with speeches by the curators, stories from those who participated in that great archaeological season, and guided tours of the exhibition with archaeology students from the University of Milan, Chiara Ariosto and Chiara Pavone.
