The Domodossola Carnival, one of the most famous historical events in Val d’Ossola thanks to its century-old tradition, is preparing to animate the city of Domodossola from February 6 to February 17, 2026.
The central figures of this Carnival are Togn and Cia, a young betrothed couple to whom the mayor symbolically hands over the keys to the city, kicking off ten days of festivities that involve the entire community. Between dances, performances, shows, and moments of fun, the Domodossola Carnival stands out as a unique event.
On Sunday the 15th, the concluding day, a lively parade of allegorical floats and masks will cross the streets of the Borgo della Cultura to reach Piazza Mercato, where the traditional wedding of Togn and Cia is celebrated.
In Piazza Mercato, visitors can also taste the characteristic “pulenta e sciriuii,” consisting of polenta and sausages, prepared on-site by the “pulentatt” exclusively for the Domodossola Carnival. The yellow of the polenta, a deeply rooted symbol of this historical Carnival, colors the city of Domodossola for a few days with streamers, flags, and balloons.
