Trino, in the province of Vercelli, is located at the foot of the Monferrato hills, in the lower Vercelli plain.
Two of the main points of interest are located just outside the town center: the Bosco delle Sorti della Partecipanza di Trino (Trino Forest) and the Abbey of Lucedio.
The Bosco delle Sorti represents the original appearance of the Po Valley before its transformation for agricultural purposes and is an example of a lowland forest.
The Abbey of Lucedio, on the other hand, is the place where the introduction of rice cultivation was first documented.
