Dormelletto is located in the southern part of Lake Maggiore, in the province of Novara. Some of the town’s points of interest include the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta and the church of Madonna della Fontana. Dormelletto is home to the Canneti di Dormelletto Special Nature Reserve and part of the Lagoni di Mercurago Nature Park, one of the prehistoric pile-dwelling sites around the Alps, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011.
