Mount Rosa

Eleven pyramid-shaped peaks made from ice and Himalayan rock make up spectacular Mount Rosa, which reaches a height of 4634 m. above sea level.
The name of this majestic natural monument stems from roise which means glacier.

To admire the spectacular scenery that the mountain offers, one may use the chair lift that takes one to the Viewpoint; at dawn the sun illuminates the highest snow-covered peaks with colours ranging from pink to orange and from white to yellow, revealing rocky faces, canyons, crevasses and glaciers.

The stage for trips, skiing, mountain-climbing, hiking and hang-gliding, the territory offers many opportunities for relaxation and leisure activities, which include the ski runs of Mount Moro, 3000 m in height and suitable for all levels of skill; the numerous ice waterfalls where, until the beginning of March, it is possible to enjoy climbs of differing difficulty; and an area on Mount Moro reserved for (free-style) snowboarding enthusiasts.

For the more expert hikers there is the opportunity to cross the Ossola valleys, a 400 km hike divided into 25 stages.
