Villa Giulia

Classicamente. Conversazioni in musica
30 June 2009 - 26 September 2009

This year once again Verbania Town Council and its Tourism Department are offering classical music at Villa Giulia.  The pianist Michelangelo Carbonara pays homage to Nino Rota on the 30th anniversary of the composer’s death.  “The Mozart Effect” presents a series of talks on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart introduced by the musicologist Giovanni Sgaria and including three film showings: “Noi tre” by Pupi Avati, “The Magic Fluite” by Kenneth Branagh and “Amadeus” by Milos Forman.

The key event in the programme will be held in Villa Rusconi Clerici on 8 July, with the National Award for a Classical recording promoted by the “Classic Voice” magazine.  This award, the only one of its kind in Italy, is sponsored by the country’s leading classical music magazine and is adjudicated by a jury formed of eminent music critics.

The concerts will begin at 21.15.  Free admittance.
