Destination Lake Maggiore at the CMT Fair in Stuttgart

From 15 to 23 JanuaryLake Maggiore, its Valleys, its Flowers” will be taking part in the CMT Fair in Stuttgart. This International Holiday Exhibition for caravans, motoring and tourism is the first major German holiday fair of the year, with extensive sections devoted to caravanning, golf, health and fitness, hiking, cruises and cycling holidays, held at the Trade Fair Centre in Stuttgart.

CMT is the top fair for number of visitors and the first of the year in Germany, and is regarded as a sort of barometer for the tourist market. In 2010 the Fair attracted 205,000 visitors, beating the record of the previous year.  This is the first event on the international holiday fair circuit in which destination Lake Maggiore will take part.

Participation in the CMT and other international events is part of the Project for promoting the area’s resources entitled “Lake Maggiore: nature, environment and culture”, developed in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce of Novara and Varese, and the main public and private bodies involved in promoting tourism in the Lake Maggiore area.  The aim is to allow international markets to learn more about the Lake area, including the mountains of the Ossola, Lake Orta, Novara and its hills, the Varese area, and Locarno.

The Fair will be open to visitors every day from 15 to 23 January between 10 am and 6 pm. Over the 9 days of the exhibition there will also be a number of complementary events. On the first weekend Pavilion 9 will be devoted to cycling and adventure holidays, on the second (from 20 to 23 January) to cruises, golf and health and fitness.  A stand in Pavilion 2 will advertise culture and cultural holidays, including information on theatres, orchestras, festivals, museums etc.

The destination “Lake Maggiore, its Valleys, its Flowers” will have its own 20 sq mt stand, Lago Maggiore und seine Berge, in Pavilion 4, where the latest German-language edition of the Sales Manual will be available, as well as other promotional material on the area.

From 25 to 27 February the destination Lake Maggiore will have a stand at the Ferie for Alle event in Denmark and at the Mahana Salon du tourisme in Lyon from 4 to 6 February.
