An exhibition entitled "Il Rinascimento di Gaudenzio Ferrari" (The Renaissance of Gaudenzio Ferrari), dedicated to Piedmont’s most important Renaissance artist, will open on 23rd March 2018. The exhibition, which will be held in the cities of Varallo, Vercelli and Novara, takes an in-depth look at the greatness of this painter. Much of his work, distinguished by a simple, theatrical style, is still to be found in Piedmont.

The exhibition in Varallo will focus on the early years of the artist's career, from the years of training through to the challenges of Sacro Monte, in Vercelli the exhibition will focus on the period when he had reached artistic maturity, whilst in Novara the exhibition will examine the final years, amidst the rising tide of Mannerism.

"Il Rinascimento di Gaudenzio Ferrari" will take place from 23rd March to 1st July 2018 in the three Piedmont cities, extending beyond the usual exhibition venues into churches and buildings of the cities and the surrounding area, which house frescoes and other works by the master. The exhibition in Varallo will continue until 16th September 2018.
