Cinema plays a starring role in the 70th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, an event held on the Swiss shores of Lake Maggiore and eagerly awaited each year by filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

A number of films will be screened during the 11 days of the festival, from 2nd to 12th August 2017, all with a strong emphasis on quality and variety: 12 sections, 3 competitions and 25 awards. This festival explores every aspect of filmmaking, presenting the authors and films of today with the brightest of futures ahead of them.
