The heavy snowfalls of recent days have allowed to anticipate the opening of the ski season 2016/2017.

Below is a list of the open ski resorts, constantly updated!
- San Domenico Ski: open daily - please check on the official website possible temporary closures in windy conditions.
- Macugnaga - Moro: open daily
- Macugnaga - Belvedere: open daily
- Formazza - Valdo: open with artificial snow
- Cheggio: only the "tapis roulant" is open
Fun for the whole family, even for those who can not ski, at the Baitina in Druogno with the bobsled track, tubing, trampolines and playground on the snow.
On Ossola peaks you can practice cross-country skiing too: the cross-country track in Val Formazza Riale is open throughout its length from Saturday, December 3rd.
For those who loves to skate on ice, the Antronapiana rink is open in the afternoon from 2.30 to 6.00 pm and in the evening from 8.30 to 11.00 pm, while the ice rink in Pecetto, Macugnaga, is open from 10 am to 12.30 pm, in the afternoon from 2 to 6.30 pm and also in the evening from 8.30 to 11 pm.
You can go ice-skating also on the lake: until January 15th in Pallanza the largest ice rink in the province is open, with over 500 square meters of ice.
In Omegna the skating rink on the lakefront is open until January 8th, every day from 10.00 am to 12.45 pm, from 2.30 to 7.30 pm and from 8:45 pm to 12:00 am.
