From Friday, September 2nd, to Monday, September 5th, the International Meeting of Chimney Sweepers will be back in Santa Maria Maggiore, Vigezzo Valley.

The event, founded in 1982, has seen the number of the sweepers participating in it growing exponentially over the years. From a few dozen of the early 90s, coming mostly from neighbouring countries, it has reached more than eight hundred from all over Italy, Europe, America and Japan.

The event, which has been representing for years a major tourism event for all Piedmont, recalls the story, unknown to most, of the chimney sweepers, characteristic of the Vigezzo Valley.

The Meeting includes three days full of events, culminating, as every year, with the traditional Sunday morning parade through the streets of Santa Maria Maggiore.

Friday, September 2nd
Santa Maria Maggiore
5:00pm: live music at the Chimney Sweeps Museum (Villa Antonia Park).

Saturday, September 3rd 
Malesco – Craveggia – Santa Maria Maggiore
10:30 am: gathering of all the participants in front of the Chimney sweeps monument in Malesco.
3.30pm: visit at the historical centre of Craveggia.
8.00pm: surprise evening at the Chimney Sweeps Museum (Villa Antonia Park).

Sunday, September 4th 
Santa Maria Maggiore
10:00: traditional Chimney Sweeps parade through the streets of the village, re-enactment of the cleaning of chimneys on the roofs of Piazza Risorgimento and Piazza Gennari.
16:00: Concert, at the park of Villa Antonia, by the "Giovani Musicisti Ossolani".
17:00: interviews, awards and memories of the Chimney Sweeps.
