About

The Garden Book Festival of “Editoria&Giardini” is a landmark event for lovers of gardens and publications on gardens.

Villa Giulia and its splendid gardens are an elegant setting for the range of cultural events held every September on the theme of gardens and publishing in its widest sense, which includes architecture, art and photography.

A series of lectures and conferences on the theme is given every year by major experts in the sector, and book presentations give authors the chance to meet and exchange opinions with their readers.

The programme also includes a number of workshops destined for anyone who would like to take up gardening or who is already an expert gardener. Events in past years have included intensive courses in botanical design, flower-arranging and gardening.

For the duration of the event many private gardens are open to the public for guided visits, but also as the setting for concerts, theatre and exhibitions by artists of national and international fame. Gardens which have opened their gates to the public in past years include Villa San Remigio, Villa Taranto, Villa Casanova Scotti, Villa L’Eremitaggio and Villa Rusconi - Clerici.

Editoria&Giardini also offers a Special Cancellation of the stamp on a postcard reproducing the poster of the event.

The festival is usually held in September and is organised by the Town Council of Verbania, with support from Piedmont region and Verbano Cusio Ossola Province.
