Tour Natur 2008

Following last year's positive experience, the tourist destination Lake Maggiore, its valleys and its flowers wil take part in the 2008 edition of the Tour Natur Show, held in Dusseldorf, Germany from 5th to 7th September. This initiative is one of the many that aim to develop the territory's resources via creation, valorisation and promotion of tourist itineraries.

In particular, participation at shows of an international character is one of the image consolidation and promotion strategies for the tourist destination through appropriate communicative interventions.

Participation at international shows, promoted and financed by the Chamber of commerce, Borromeo Island Administration, Valla Taranto Gardens Association, Verbania Council, FAITA and Federalberghi, has recently expanded with collaboration from Switzerland and Lombardy. This is not altogether new, however: in recent years various projects of an inter-state manner have been created through the Interreg system. Il Lago Maggiore, le sue valli, i suoi fiori aims to promote the entire territory surrounding Lake Maggiore and includes the Ossola Mountains, Lake Orta, Novara and its hills.

The number of partners involved has also increased: Novara and Varese Chamber of Commerce, VCO and Novara Province, Distretti dei Laghi and Novara ATL, the Verbania Council, the Consortium of Mountain Municipalities from Alto Verbano, Cannobina, Cusio Mottarone, Ossola and Vigezzo, LagoMaggiore Conference, Piccoli Alberghi Tipici, Consorzio Fiori Tipici and Confcommercio.

Tour Natur, the only show in Germany specialised in excursions and trekking and open to the general public, will attract visitors interested in the subject from throughout Germany and nearby countries. The show is now in its sixth year and for the first time the 275 exhibitors will occupy sections 1 and 2 of the Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre. Equipment for trekking and excursions will be positioned in section 1, while section 2 will host 5000 different destinations under one roof. In total about 35,000 visitors are expected.

The show will be open to the public from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September from 10 am to 6pm. Over the same period, the exhibition centre will host two other events: Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, the largest camper/caravan show in the world, and IAM, the international investor's show. The Italo-Swiss tourist offer will be present as a sole destination at the exhibition area: Lago Maggiore und seine Berge. At the stand the public can see, via promotional material in German and Multi language, as well as in manuals on sale, excursion and cycling itineraries, the beauty of the landscape and the culture of the VCO province, Novara, Varese and Canton Ticino. The next event at which Il Lago Maggiore, le sue valli, i suoi fiori will take part is the World Travel Market in London from 10th to 13th November. For further information you can visit the official site of the event www.tournatur.com or contact Servizio Promozione delle Imprese e Sviluppo del Territorio: tel. 0323 912833, fax 0323 922054 email: promozione@vb.camcom.it.
