Ossola Valley
Not to frighten you, but "Val d'Ossola" is a world in itself, a world of contrasts, characterised by the same pleasure of flat land (where you will find Ossola's main town, Domodossola) and mountains.
Many inhabited towns can be found in this valley; they are places that, regardless of the short distance that separates them from the other communities of the Verbano area, have aspects that make them unique.
The Ossola territory is antique, signalled by uncountable historic testimonies; and it's also a frontier ( between the Lepontine Alps, opening towards the lakes in the south and toward Switzerland in the north). For this fact it has been inevitably characterised by a union from various parts that make - almost paradoxically, a homogenous unit.
Among the towns of the Valley, there is also Pallanzeno, which is increasingly mentioned in sporting chronicles for being the birthplace of skiing champion Max Blardone.
