Museums — Official Tourism Gateway of Lake Maggiore

Lake Maggiore has always possessed a wealth of art.
The greatest perhaps, which has been obtained through the help of mother nature, is the landscape. And with reference to this, not by chance, you can find the landscape museum in Pallanza, within the walls of the eighteenth century Dugnani Palace " host to numerous testimonies through the ages of life in these places.

But it doesn't end here: in Gignese " it may seem curious " there is a museum that doesn't fear the rain. This is the umbrella museum, which offers an image of the ages that our society has passed: from the parasols of the romantic age to nineteenth century umbrellas, passing the "cupola" of the "belle Epoque" and ending with modern times.
Another museum well worth a visit is the chimney sweep museum, in Malesco, Val Vigezzo: again another historic testimony of a population that for years sent their people around Europe to clean chimney flues.
Then there is the museum of the Royal Italian Army uniforms on San Giulio island: here you can even find that of Umberto I, together with published letters, despatches from the Italian Risorgimento to world conflicts.

Following this, there are places that are museums in their own right, such as palazzo Borromeo on Isola Bella, an abundance of Baroque preciousness to leave you breathless.
Not to mention the Malpaga castles, the so called Cannero castles " not a real museum, but a historic testimony.

The list is endless and the historic periods that have passed this territory are never overlooked. Perhaps an example of an age closest to us is the museum of art and industry "Forum" in Omegna, testimony to "Cusiana" industrial production.
