The fifth edition of Lago Maggiore LetterAltura, the festival of mountain literature, travel and adventure starts in Verbania on Wednesday 22nd June 2011.

The inauguration ceremony will be held on Wednesday 22nd June, from 5.30 pm, at Villa San Remigio in Verbania Pallanza.

The 2011 edition of LetterAltura will host 120 events, including meetings with writers, performances and creative workshops and more than 150 national and international guests.

Here are the guests of LetterAltura 2011: the explorer Folco Quilici, the singers and musicians Francesco Guccini, Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti, the climbers Ivo Rabanser, Kurt Diemberger, Eloise Barbieri, Alessandro Gogna, Marco Anghileri, Omar Oprandi,  the writers Sebastiano Vassalli, Laura Pariani, Margherita Oggero, Piero Dorfles, Andrea Fazioli, Wu Ming 2, the anthropologists Bozidar Jezernik and Marco Aime, the scientist Luca Mercalli, the comedian Maurizio Milani, the directors Fredo Valla and Cristina Comencini, the photographers Gianni Bini, Sergio Ramazzotti and Tiziano Fratus, the skiers Marco Albarello, Gabriella Paruzzi and Pietro Piller Cottrer.

Also, children will be able to have fun thanks to special initiatives for them.
