Everything is ready at the renowned Ossola theatre La Fabbrica in Villadossola for the new theatre season, with plenty of surprises, new shows and timeless classics in store. Numerous theatre companies from throughout Italy will take to the stage on eight different occasions between 26th November 2008 and 24th April 2009. The series of shows will start on Friday 21st November with Le Smanie per la villeggiatura [a craving for holiday resorts] by Carlo Goldoni, directed and performed by Elena Bucci, Stefano Randisi, Marco Sgrosso and Enzo Vetrano. On 6th December, as a part of the Teatro di Provincia programme Natale in Cucina [Christmas in the kitchen] by Alan Ayckbourn will be performed. On Friday 12th December the company Sicilia Teatro will perform William Shakespeare's Othello with Sebastiano Lo Monaco under the direction of Roberto Guicciardino.The season continues into the new year with Keely and Du by Jane Martin, performed by the artists from the Turin Theatre Company on Friday 16th January 2009 while on Friday 31st January Bertolt Brecht's work Madre coraggio e i suoi figli [mother courage and her children] will take to the stage. Saturday 28th February, on the other hand will see the Florence Theatre Company performing Michelina, a captivating comedy with music.One of the unmissable end of season shows on the programme is Il fantasma blu [the blue ghost] with Amanda Sandrelli on Saturday 14th March, whereas Giacomo Casanova with Enzo Bacchetti will close the season on Friday 24th April 2009.
