In Malesco, at the gates of the wild Val Grande short film will be at the forefront from 3th to 8th August 2009 with the tenth edition of Malescorto, the International Short Film Festival organised by the Malesco Council and the Val Grande National Park Association.

Over the six days of the Festival, under the artistic direction of Giancarlo Baudena, video makers and directors from throughout the world will show their short films in one of the three festival sections (free theme, ecology and the insubrica area) which will then be judged by a jury of sector experts.

Eight awards will be given in the three sections. In the free theme section and the section dedicated to ecology an awards will be given for the best fictional work, best short film documentary and the best animated short film. There will also be a prize dedicated to the school that creates the best short film based on the theme of ecology and environmental protection.

The third section, closely linked to the local territory and dedicated to the area of Insubria Lepontina, will award a prize to the best short film documentary made in one of the provinces of the Insubrica Region, which are Como, Varese, Lecco, Canton Ticino and Verbano Cusio Ossola.
