The Ente Parco Nazionale Val Grande joined, for the fifth consecutive year, the event “Voler bene all'Italia. Festa nazionale della Piccola Grande Italia", an initiative promoted by Legambiente for the enhancement of small Italian towns, which in 2011 will be held on Sunday 8th May in several Italian places (www.piccolagrandeitalia.it).
This year the little town of Trontano, in Ossola Valley, will host the event.
Programme of the day:
10.30 am - Meeting in the square opposite the Parish Church of Nativity of Mary (Sec. X) and presentation of the initiative.
During the visit you can admire the chapel of St. Charles and the baptistery built between 1668 and 1671 and further modified until 1790.
11.15 am - Walk to Verigo along the path of Rio Graglia where we will stop to see the remains of six stone mills used for grinding rye.
12.30 pm - Lunch.
2 pm - Visit of the village of Verigo.
2.30/3 pm - Departure.
