NewsItalian Mountain Running Championships: back in Ossola
After 11 years of absence the Italian Mountain Running Championships return to Ossola in June. Over the weekend of 7/8 June will be at the centre of attention for fans of this fascinating specialist race for the first of the three trials which will decide the Tri-Colour titles.The other two trials will be held on 27th July in Adrara San Martino (BS) and on 17th August in Cedegolo/Cevo, again in the Province of Brescia.
450 runners from throughout Italy are expected, who will battle it out on this characteristic route in the surrounding areas of the Ossola town, ascending to Monte Calvario and arriving in the wonderful Piazza Mercato in the centre of Domodossola three different km ranges are planned: 4.9km for the Junior Female category, 7.53km for the Senior Female and Junior male categories, and 11.205km for the Senior Male category.
The Ossola event will be organised by a pool of local sporting associations which have joined forces in order to achieve the best possible results for this important occasion: Atletica Ossolana 2000, G.S. Genzianella, G.S. Bognanco, A.S. Caddese, Atletica AVIS Ossolana, G.S. Valdivedro, Podistica Cannobio, Running Team CO-VER MAPEI, G.S. Gravellona VCO, U.S.C. Marathon Verbania, Sport & Sportivi, U.S. Ornavasso, Sport PRO-MOTION.
The Italian Mountain Running Championships Città di Domodossola Trophy is also a part of the Giugno Domese" calendar and will be preceeded by the classic Memorial Vechietti, a road race reserved for the youth category.
