Rediscover the territory, follow paths, mule tracks or country lanes that were once the main transit routes: this is the objective of Scopriamo Girolago, the early summer appointment that offers a rich calendar excursions in the Lake Orta and Mottarone areas.

On foot (Blue ring) or by mountain bike (green ring) you can discover ancient roads, which in past centuries carried men, goods and animals, surrounded a by fascinating environment and panoramic views of the lake and the Alps that surround it.

Along this route participants will come across numerous museums, religious buildings and artisan workshops which still today preserve traditions, culture and history of past times. There are also many areas of interest from a landscape point of view with nature reserves offering the chance to admire the flora and fauna present in this pre-Alp area.

The first event is scheduled for 25th May 2008 from Omega to Orta along the Via dei mestieri, an itinerary on foot discovering ethnographic museums and the history of traditional crafts and jobs. On Sunday 8th June, on the other hand there will be a tour from Orta San Giulio to Pella, which will give participants a chance to discover the history and culture of the San Giulio Riviera.

Nature and its colours alongside suggestive landscapes will be in the spotlight for the appointment on Sunday 22nd June entitled Il percorso naturalistico [The nature Path], which leaves from Pella and arrives in the town of Omegna.
