Every year Santa Maria Maggiore, a beautiful village in the Vigezzo Valley, hosts more than 1200 chimney sweeps, coming from all over the world in order to celebrate and remember a particular ancient job: the chimney sweep.
The International Meeting of Chimney Sweeps, now at its 29th edition, will be from 3rd to 6th September 2010: four days of celebration including dances, music and parades.
On Sunday 5th September the chimney sweeps, in traditional costume, parade through the streets of Santa Maria Maggiore, giving direct demonstration of the cleaning.
The gathering, as always, is organised by the National Chimney Sweep Association with the aid of the Vigezzo Valley Consortium of Mountain Municipalities and the Verbano Cusio Ossola Province.Contact
