There is a rich and packed calendar of events scheduled in Baceno and Alpe Devero for Christmas 2007, which is now just around the corner. Music, film and shows will evolve around food and entertainment for children in an unmissable series of events.

On Saturday 22nd Deecmber at 21.00 in the ancient San Gaudenzio Church in Baceno, the Cultural Association La Voce dell'Arte will perform the lyric opera Suor Angelica whereas on 24th December for Notte di Natale (Christmas Night), following Holy Mass, the Church square will turn into a place of celebration with mulled wine and hot chocolate for all as well as a traditional parade of of groups dressed in costumes from past times.

Music and instruments in concerts are on the bill for the evening of 29th December in the San Gaudenzio church for the Concerto Augurale with the Baceno Musical Band. There will also be space for theatre on Friday 4th January 2008 when the Compagnia degli Imbarcati performs Favolation at the Sala Multimediale at 21.00. For children, on the other hand, the traditional arrival of the Befana (good witch) and the Three Wise Men will start at 15.30 on Saturday 5th January in the Town Square.

Equally rich is the Alpe Devero programme (held in Salone Cervandone) where the mountain, lived, told and immortalised will be the protagonist. On Wednesday 26th December Alessandro Pirocchi will offer a series of images dedicated to The Mountains and Nature in Argentina and Patagonia while on the evening of Friday 28th December the Christmas themed play Ginepro e spezie d'oriente will be performed. La melodia dei Monti is the title of the concert to be performed on Saturday 29th December 2007 by the Valgrande di Cambiasca Choir.

On Wednesday 2nd January 2008 the film An uncomfortable truth by Al Gore, Nobel Peace Prize winner 2007 will be shown whereas on the evening of Thursday 3rd January 2008 the writer/journalist Paolo Crosa Lenz will, through words and images, discuss the theme Climatic changes in the Lepontine Alps. Among the must-see films are Centochiodi and Il vento fa il suo giro shown respectively on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th January 2008.
