The village of Gurro typifies the customs and popular culture of the Cannobina Valley, with its ancient historic centre of narrow streets threading through huddles of stone houses with large wooden loggias.

The Cannobina Valley Folk Museum is in the centre of the old part of the village, and provides a window onto the life of the past. An essentially rural and agricultural way of life is illustrated in the display of clothes, lace, toys, crockery and a huge range of wooden tools.

Gurro was famous in the area for the production of goods made of hemp and wool, so the museum’s exhibits include traditional spinning wheels, weaving looms and combing implements.
