NewsAlpe Devero hosts LetterAltura
Literature ascends in altitude: from the waters of Lake Maggiore it heads to the green fields of the Devero plains in the Antigorio Divedro Valley. On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July 2007 LetterAltura, the Festival of mountain, travel and adventure literature will reveal the mountains of an age through reading, guided excursions and entertainment.
Saturday will start with a musical aperitif and a wandering concert (from 17.00 to 19.00) by the group Tri Muzike| a walk through Alpe Devero's pathways to the sound of music and poetry. At 21.00 the Walsr poet Anna Maria Bacher will treat spectators to some poetry in the Walser language, followed by the viewing of comic strips of Alpine mountaineering by Paolo Cossi to the sound of kletzmer music.
Sunday will be dedicated to the mountain in its purest sense, that is the pleasure of walking submerged in nature in the company of Alpine Guides, to witness unique landscapes dominated by the mountains. Two excursions have been organised to mark the LetterAltura Festival: the east Grande hills Tour along the balcony that is home to an almost uninterrupted series of pastures and hills, and the Lake Devero Tour, a simple walk surrounded by the lake overlooked by the Alps.
In Crampiolo the theatre company Altro Teatro will supply the evening entertainment by making the mountains magical through animated readings of unpublished fables, Alpine inspired poetry and Walser tales that belong to past times.LetterAltura will continue the following weekend, 14th and 15th July in the mountains of the Antrona Valley.
