Varese Cake, with its unmistakable “log” shape, is part of the culinary tradition of the town.
The cake is made from maize flour (resulting in its being called Amorpolenta – “polenta love” – by the people of Milan) and ground almonds, among other ingredients; the finished cake is sprinkled with icing sugar, and its light, airy texture makes it a mouth-watering delicacy.
