Brutti ma buoni - Ossa da mordere

The two main sweet specialties of Borgomanero are the “Ossa da mordere “ – bones to bite and the “Brutti ma buoni” – ugly but good. They were first produced in 1869 in Borgomanero in a so-called Offellerie.

The Brutti ma buoni are made of egg whites, sweet almonds, hazelnuts, sugar and vanillin, while to the Ossa da mordere you need to add some flour to make them harder to bite.
