About

Every year the arrival of spring is celebrated with the Spring Camellia Show, with its display of the rarest and loveliest examples of the flower which adorns the lake area at this time of year.

The show originated in a collaboration between the Consortium of Typical Flowers of Lake Maggiore and Verbania Town Council. It is held in the gracious setting of Villa Giulia, but also outdoors, along the promenades and in the squares of the local lakeside towns.

The Lake Maggiore area is at the forefront of specialised camellia growing in Europe, with a huge range of hundreds of varieties, displaying a wide selection of colours, sizes and types of flower.

A full programme of cultural events is offered each year on the occasion of the show: guided visits to private villa gardens, concerts, exhibitions on related topics and presentations of books on flowers and gardens. Guided themed walks are organised, as well as creative workshops for children.

As always, camellia plants are on sale during the show.
