On 25th March in Riale Meitza Lauf, an entertaining snow shoe trek will take place celebrating its first edition as the winter season draws to a close.

Val Formazza, incontaminated territory and of unrivalled beauty, wil become the backdrop for this non-competitive snow shoe race. The route, 7km long, with start and finish line in Riale, covers a total rise and fall of 180 metres with an expected completion time of three hours.

Starting from Riale, particpants will pass through the village and ascend until they reach Lake Morasco (1743 metres), an artificial lake built among the Alps, and further still to Furculti (1890 metres) where the descent will start as they head towads Piana della Frua, an immense plane (pianoro) of pure nature, and finally returning to Riale.

This race is dedicated to all those who love to do sport whilst surrounded by nuture, enjoying the wonderful landscapes of larch woods and planes at the bas of the imposing Alps.
