NewsVerbania’s squares at Christmas
On the shores of Lake a magical Christmas atmosphere can be felt during the period of Advent. In a landscape surrounded by the peaks of the snowy Alps, among characteristic streets of the town centre, the Verbania Intra Christmas markets return from 5 to 7 December.
For three whole days you can admire and buy from over 40 stands over 40 stalls in the Old Town centre of Intra, with artisan specialities of the most varied kinds. Artefacts made from wood, stone, ceramics and even fabrics, jewels and wine and food products are only some of the many proposals of craft excellence on display over these three days.
From 5 to 7 December a number of coinciding events will also take place including music, performances and most importantly animation for children jugglers, clown and stilt artists will entertain children in Piazza Ranzoni and Piazzetta San Fabian during the three afternoons.
The little train linking the streets of the town and the Old Town centre will also be running where visitors can travel comfortably seated whilst observing the Christmas markets and the festivities from a "privileged" point of view (the ticket costs €1.50).
A number of cultural proposals in the town of Verbania will run alongside the Markets such as the advent concerts in the Church of San Leonardo Pallanza (Sunday 6th December 2009, 9pm) or the IX National Winter Camellia Show at Villa Giulia (from 5th to 6th December 2009).
