A success story that grows every year: an ever increasing audience and an array of events with internationally known artist are the ingredients that have made Blues al Femminile (female blues) a consolidated and highly awaited event throughout Verbano Cusio Ossola . Organised by the Turin Jazz Centre, Blues al Femminile, now in its 19th year, continues to offer a varied showcase of the most authentic Afro-American language in the form of exciting performances by excellent vocal artists in theatres, cultural centres, churches and auditoriums in the Piedmont Region and Verbano Cusio Ossola in particular.

The four protagonists of Blues al Femminile 2009, Tia Carroll, Janine Gilbert-Carter Cheryl Renee and Evelyn Turrentine-Agee will perform in our territory between 20th October and 14th December 2009.

Tia Carroll and her Hard Work Band will perform on Thursday 22nd October at Teatro Galletti in Domodossola (Piazza Mercato, at 21.00 Entrance €5.00) offering the public covers of memorable moments from the classic soul music period. The following Wednesday, 28th October 2009, the refined ballad and jazz-blues performer Janine Gilbert-Carter will take to the stage of Teatro Sociale in Omegna (Via Carducci 8, at 21.00 Entrance €5.00).

In November the date with blues will be at the Centro Sant'Anna in Verbania Nel (Corso Belgio 1, at 21 entrance €5.00) with Cincinnati based singer-pianist Cheryl Renee and her band.

The series in Verbano Cusio Ossola ends on Wednesday 9th December 2009 at Teatro La Fabbrica in Villadossola (Corso Italia 13, at 21.00 entrance €5.00) with the extremely popular, a dynamic and hypnotic singer of tradition gospel mould.
