The Baceno Devero Crampiolo walk, a highly awaited mid-summer's event for mountain race lovers, will be held on Sunday 16th August 2009 and this year celebrates its 38th edition. A classic Alpine sports event, this non-competitive race annually attracts great numbers of participants to the Antigorio and Divedro valleys, wishing to take part in a running race in the Alps. This year's route is identical to last year's covering 14km, starting in Baceno and arriving in Crampiolo, with a total height difference of 1165 metres and a maximum race time of four hours.

The athletes will reach altitudes of 1,800 metres, above Piana di Devero, crossing the suggestive mountain landscape that the Veglia Devero Nature Park offers. As always, a tasty Alpine lunch will await those who took part in the walk and a variety of prizes will be on offer for those who crossed the finish line.

Enrolment must be completed by 8.30am on 16th August at the Baceno Tourist Office (VB) and consists of providing the €5.00 enrolment fee and your personal details (name, surname, date of birth, residence and any relevant affiliation to a sporting group). The race will start at 9am on 16th August from the Baceno Piazza Centrale.

Assistance, controls and radio services will be available throughout the race at various checkpoints and medical aid is guaranteed for the entirety of the race.

The event is organised by the Baveno Pro Loco, in association with Gruppo Alpini and the Baceno Musical Band with the support of the Antigorio Consortium of Mountain Municipalities and the Baceno Council.

Following the race, those who took part can download a participation certificate from the Discoveryalps website.
