NewsMusic, theatre and dance in the Verbano Cusio Ossola extraction mines
Following the success of previous editions, once again for 2009 the date with music, theatre and dance - Tones on the Stones -�a returns by public demand to the extraction mines of Verbano Cusio Ossola. From 25th July to 1st August, the mines of our territory will become enchanting natural stages where internationally known stars will perform in a rich calendar of shows.
The idea of offering such a diverse programme of music, theatre and dance stems from the enormous potential of space, certain that every language, every form of art can find new creative, poetic or spectacular lifeblood due to its unique setting. The stones, with their shapes and colours, are an integral part of artistic creation, an essential component, unrepeatable in other scenic spaces: this is the main strength of Tones on the Stones. The artistic creators have tried to offer something never seen and exclusive: stone theatres will host three events packed with artistic value and spectacular effects, two of which have been created exclusively for Tones on the Stones.

The review begins on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July in the Casino Visconti quarry in Ornavasso, with the show Atlante performed by Ismael Ivo, one of modern dance's great exponents (on Saturday 25th July the shows will start at 18.00 - 19.00 - 21.00 - 22.00 while on Sunday 26th they will be at 11.30 - 12.30 - 15.30 - 16.30).
At 22.00 on 30th July the location will be at the historic Trontano Quarry (Verbania) with the singer, Gallega Uxia who will perform Eterno navegar: her velvety voice with an ambience that draws on the local heritage of regional Spanish music, her homeland, combined with Portugues and Brazilian harmonies.
The review also comes to a close at the Trontano Quarry Sempre nella Cava Storica di Trontano with the show Tones on the Screens: Cent'anni di emozioni [100 years of emotions], an incredible show that brings vertical choreography together with theatre, poetry and multimedia art.
