Lago Maggiore LetterAltura, the festival of mountain literature, travel and adventure is proud to present its third edition. This event, for lovers of words, the mountains, books, adventure and exploration, will take place in Verbania from 24th to 28th June on the banks of Lake Maggiore. After this, until 19th July, a series of not to be missed events will take place at altitude in surrounding Alpine areas.

Writers, poets, philosophers, journalists, photographers and artists will all join the huge group of LetteAltura volunteers (the heart and soul of the festival) to create an exciting and original event. As a matter of fact, the programme offers encounters with authors, debates, theatre shows, music and outdoor activities. An array of events and people brought together by a passion for the mountains, literature and reading.

The opening week in Verbania will be followed by other weekends in the Alpine and Pre-Alpine valleys of Ossola and Cusio. The festival dates are: - Verbania: 24-28 June 2009- Quarne: 4-5 July 2009- Macugnaga: 11-12 July 2009- Val Bognanco: 18-19 July 2009
